We are a small rescue and recently we have been hit with some big vet bills. The first was Bear our blind senior rottie from NYC. Several weeks ago he stopped eating and was lethargic. He spent the weekend at the er vet where we found out he had a tumor on his spleen and also liver. Sadly surgery is not a option for him. Right now he is doing good and we will keep him comfortable and happy as long as possible.

The second is Liberty. Liberty was one of the Texas 200. She was initially up for adoption. Due to her trust issues with men, doesn't like children and not good with other dogs she became a permanent menber of our pack. Here we know she will never be put in a position to fail and it took about a year but my husband gained her trust and now loves him.

Liberty has a mammory mass and was scheduled to have it removed. A few days before surgery I noticed her eye looked a little cloudy. Took her in to the vet and she had a ulcerated eye. The vet said she injured it somehow. This past Monday her eye was showing some improvement but the vet said she is still no comfortable saying she won't lose the eye. Liberty goes for another eye check next Wednesday 9/3. She currently is on pain meds, drops to dilate her pupil and antibotic ointment. Her surgery will be scheduled as soon as we know whats going to happen with the eye. If it needs to be removed it would be easiest to remove it the same time as the mass. The vet also mentioned possibly partially sewing the lid shut to act as a bandage.

The picture shows Liberty after her last eye check with the stain in her eye which makes it look green.

Any amount will help and thank you!
