Christa McGrath hasn't added a story.
Pete has some kind of infection, may have a broken leg, has round worm (has now been given worming treatment), is FIV postive but a re-test is being done to see if that is indeed true or not, and needs to be neutered. We are waiting on hearing what is exactly wrong with his back leg. Here is how I come to meet Pete...
About a month ago Pete came to me. I have semi ferals outside that I feed every night. I let them eat inside to get away from the cold for a moment. All of a sudden I hear "meow, meow." I look out my patio door and here is this skinny tuxedo cat. I open the door and he scurries away. I call for him and comes back and nlets me pet him. I invite him in to indulge as he is so thin. From time to time over the past month he would visit me to have some food. He has seemed to gain a bit of weight. He had to of been someones cat at some point. He's is very affectionate towards everyone, including my 4 year old son. He seemed a little scared of my dog, but who isn't of a huge 110lb beast. :] Last night 2/18/14 he came in to eat. Afterwards I seen him walking only on 3 of his legs. He was holding up his back right leg. I looked at it and could see the bone was out of place. I knew then I couldn't let him go back outside. I borrowed a big dog cage from my brother and gave him more food, water, a cozy soft blanket, straw, (he's used to straw from outside), and a litter box. This morning 2/19/14 I took him to the vet. We were all set on going to do x-rays and testing. I left and they called. He was positive for FIV. So now we are going to re-test him for FIV and tomorrow 2/20/14 he will get his x-rays. He has be de-wormed (he had round worms) and he has been given pain meds. He is having other blood work done as well. If he is in too much pain for the x-rays, he will be put under to do so. At that time he will be neutered. If that is the route that is taken. (He will be neutered at some point no matter what) Then from there we will find out what to do with the leg. So please help Pete. I have no idea what he has been through in his 1-2 years in life. But he is young and deserves to enjoy life. We just need to fix him up to be healthy. If you can only spare $1, that's ok. Every dollar helps Pete! Thank you!
