Why oh Why to people post animals for FREE on Craigslist??? Maybe they just want to give us Dachshund lovers something to do late at night......well it worked! I am relatively new to rescue. Scrolling Facebook in January 2013 I ran across the saddest picture of a black lab in a shelter in Granville County, NC. I couldn't quick thinking about how sad her eyes looked. Instinctively I commented and offered to foster. Well that started it off.....I am now on #5, #6, & #7!! I LOVE DACHSHUNDS!!! I fell in love with a dachshund a friend had years back and now have 2 of my own and 3 fosters. April 20, 2013, I ran across a post for 2 dachshunds that must either find a new home or go to the "pound" by this week because they were moving. Well again, I begged them not to send them to a shelter or give them away. I would drive the hour or so to get them. Here's where we welcome Buddy & Puppy!! My new sweet babies. Now immediately I knew they were scared and need reassurance we wanted the best for them. We drive directly to the vet to have their nails (more like Eagle Claws) clipped and have them evaluated. To our surprise they were in relatively decent shape. While there they both were diagnosed with bacterial skin infections and Puppy with an ear infection. So we are treating those at this time. Puppy is estimated to be 10-11 years old! She needs to be spayed, have a major dental and all of her vaccinations. Buddy is estimated to be 7 years old. He too needs a major dental and vaccinations. Luckily he is neutered. The owner said they had three litter of puppies together before they finally had him neutered. Including a new doggie bed to call their own, this visit including the medications was $200.

Please consider donating to help cover their veterinary needs. Once they are all taken care of acclimated to their new way of life we will work with the dachshund rescue circle I foster with to find them a home together, as they are definitely a bonded pair! Then we can work on our next dachshund tale!!

Any and all donations can be sent directly to the vet
