Well here it is ...

Well here it is January 17, 2013- TWO WEEKS from our trip to LA to record 4 singles with Grammy Award winning producer Dave Way. Our boys- all three- have been blessed with this amazing opportunity and we have been doing all we can to make it happen. We took care of the way to get there- it's a place to stay that gives rise to this campaign. Let me explain:

We spent a month researching and writing to our wonderful provincial culture and heritage department for two separate emerging artist grants hoping they would believe in the potential of a local band with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I guess they didn't see what we saw because we were refused both grants.

So we're hoping you all see what we do and believe in our boys the way we do. What we could use help with is lodging. The cost of the hotel for the duration of the stay is around $2000.00. Whatever portion of that we can raise in the next two weeks would be brilliant.

I'm asking friends and family because- in the end- that's really all we have. But please feel free to share with your friends and family if you feel- we'd be grateful. If you can't help but just want to send good vibes and well wishes to the boys- well then please send a note. It's all good whatever you can offer.

Here's a quote that Dave shared that I just need to share. Our boys get asked a lot- "Music's great but what are you going to do for a living?" I am touched by this response:

“Singers and Musicians are some of the most driven, courageous people on the face of the earth. They deal with more day-to-day rejection in one year than most people do in a lifetime. Every day, they face the financial challenge of living a freelance lifestyle, the disrespect of people who think they should get real jobs, and their own fear that they'll never work again. Every day, they have to ignore the possibility that the vision they have dedicated their lives to is a pipe dream. With every note, they stretch themselves, emotionally and physically, risking criticism and judgment. With every passing year, many of them watch as the other people their age achieve the predictable milestones of normal life - the car, the family, the house, the nest egg. Why? Because musicians and singers are willing to give their entire lives to a moment - to that melody, that lyric, that chord, or that interpretation that will stir the audience's soul. Singers and Musicians are beings who have tasted life's nectar in that crystal moment when they poured out their creative spirit and touched another's heart. In that instant, they were as close to magic, God, and perfection as anyone could ever be. And in their own hearts, they know that to dedicate oneself to that moment is worth a thousand lifetimes.”
