Help Me Stay in University and Keep My Home ❤️

Hi everyone, my name is Oksana. I’m 20 years old, originally from Ukraine, and currently studying Criminology at the University of Ottawa.

I’m reaching out because I’m going through one of the hardest times in my life, and I desperately need some help.

I was born in Ukraine and spent much of my childhood growing up in an orphanage before being adopted and moving to Canada. Growing up wasn’t easy. From a young age, I had to fight for everything, learn to be independent, and stay strong even when life felt unfair. I didn’t have the same opportunities as many other children, but I always dreamed of building a better future for myself.

Being adopted gave me a second chance at life and the opportunity to experience what it felt like to have a loving family. My adoptive dad was a huge part of that. He gave me love, support, and a sense of belonging that meant more to me than words can explain. Losing him was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life. He was someone I could look up to, and I wish more than anything that he could be here to see me working toward my dreams. Even though he’s no longer here, I want to keep making him proud.

Unfortunately, I’m now facing a serious financial situation. Although I received OSAP funding, it didn’t even cover half of my university expenses. I have until December 1st to pay my outstanding university fees , and I’m terrified of losing my place in school and potentially my student housing.

My education means everything to me. After everything I’ve experienced growing up, attending university is something I’m incredibly proud of. My dream is to build a career helping others, especially young people who have faced difficult childhoods like mine.

I’m not someone who finds it easy to ask for help. I’ve spent most of my life learning how to overcome challenges on my own, but right now, despite trying everything I can, I can’t do this alone.

I’m hoping to raise $18,000 to help cover my tuition, housing, and essential school expenses so I can continue my education.

I’ve fought so hard to build a better life, and I don’t want financial struggles to be the reason I have to give up on my dreams. I want to finish what I’ve started, make my dad proud, and build the future I’ve always hoped for.
