ENGLISH 🇺🇸
Help Kenzo on his Road to LA 2028
My name is Melanie, and I am Kenzo’s mother.
Kenzo Woods is a young Costa Rican Para Dressage rider, internationally classified in Grade V, with one major dream: to represent Costa Rica at the highest level and work towards the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
Kenzo was born with Bardet-Biedl syndrome, a rare genetic condition that has progressively affected his eyesight. Today, he lives with a severe visual impairment and a very restricted field of vision.
But Kenzo has never allowed his disability to define what he can achieve.
For years, our family has supported him in moving forward, becoming more independent and finding his own path. Horses and dressage became an essential part of that journey. Through riding, Kenzo has found passion, confidence, discipline and a goal to work towards.
Today, he is ready for the next step.
Why Wellington?
Our goal is for Kenzo to spend approximately three months in Wellington, Florida, one of the world's leading equestrian destinations.
This time is essential. Kenzo needs to find a suitable horse, build a partnership with that horse, train at international level and participate in several Para Dressage competitions.
To progress on the international pathway, he needs to achieve the required qualifying results. This cannot realistically be accomplished through one short trip or a single competition. It takes time to create a true partnership between horse and rider and to compete consistently.
Wellington would give Kenzo the opportunity to take that next step.
What will the funds be used for?
The money raised will help cover the essential costs of this project: leasing or purchasing a suitable horse, stabling, training, competition fees, accommodation, transportation and other expenses directly related to his three-month stay in Wellington.
Our family has supported Kenzo's journey for many years, but reaching the international level represents a financial challenge that we cannot take on alone.
This project is also about something bigger than one rider.
We hope Kenzo's journey can help show that disability and high-performance sport can belong in the same story, encourage inclusion and perhaps open doors for other young athletes with disabilities in Costa Rica.
Our destination today is Wellington.
Our dream is Los Angeles 2028.
Every contribution brings Kenzo one step closer. And if you cannot donate, sharing his story can make an enormous difference.
Thank you for becoming part of Kenzo's journey.
 ESPAÑOL 🇪🇦
Ayudemos a Kenzo a llegar a Wellington – Camino a LA 2028
Aidons Kenzo à atteindre Wellington – En route vers LA 2028
