Our Family's Story
My name is Ramesh, and I'm the father of a 3½-year-old LITTLE boy named Trishaan.
Like every parent, we dreamed of watching our son take his first steps, speak his first words, run through playgrounds, and experience the simple joys of childhood.
Instead, our family has spent the last three and a half years navigating hospitals, therapies, medical testing, and an exhausting search for answers.
Today, we are reaching out with humility and hope to ask for your support.
Meet Trishaan
Trishaan is a happy little boy with a beautiful smile, a gentle spirit, and a determination that inspires everyone who meets him.
Every small milestone that many families take for granted is something our family celebrates with gratitude. His courage reminds us every day why we continue fighting for him.
The Diagnosis
After years of consultations with specialists across Canada and extensive medical evaluations in India, advanced genetic testing confirmed that Trishaan has Pelizaeus-Merzbacher Disease (PMD) caused by a PLP1 gene duplication.
PMD is an ultra-rare genetic neurological disorder that affects approximately 1 in Million children.
To help us understand the diagnosis, Trishaan's medical team explained it using a simple analogy:
"Imagine the brain as a city full of roads. Messages travel along these roads to control movement, balance, speech, and swallowing. Normally, these roads are covered with a protective coating called myelin that allows messages to travel quickly and clearly. In Trishaan's case, this coating did not develop properly. The roads are there, but the insulation is missing or very thin, causing messages to move slowly or become disrupted."
As a result, everyday functions that most children learn naturally become significant challenges for Trishaan.
Treatment Opportunity
After years of research and consultations, we connected with specialists at the NeuroCytotron Centre in Mexico & India.
After reviewing Trishaan's medical records, genetic diagnosis, imaging studies, and clinical history, the medical team determined that he may be a candidate for Quantum Magnetic Resonance Therapy (QMRT) as part of a broader rehabilitation program.
QMRT is a non-invasive therapy that aims to support neurological function alongside intensive physiotherapy and ongoing medical care.
We understand that PMD remains a serious lifelong condition and that no treatment can guarantee specific outcomes. However, this treatment offers an opportunity that we feel we must pursue while Trishaan is still in his early developmental years.
Why Timing Matters
Trishaan is only 3½ years old.
Early childhood is one of the most important periods for brain development and neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to adapt, learn, and form new connections.
Specialists have emphasized that interventions may be most valuable during these early years when the brain has its greatest capacity for development.
This window of opportunity is open right now, but it will not remain open forever.
As parents, we do not want to look back one day and wonder if we could have done more.
Our Goal: $75,000 CAD
We are seeking to raise **$75,000 CAD** to fund Trishaan's first **3 treatment cycles**, along with the associated medical monitoring, travel, and rehabilitation expenses.
This initial phase will provide the opportunity to begin treatment and assess how Trishaan responds over time.
Every donation directly supports his care.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Trishaan requires a multi-cycle
treatment protocol. He needs a minimum of 3 baseline
cycles to initiate repair, but depending on how his brain
responds and how we manage his background degeneration rate,
he may ultimately require up to 10 cycles over
time.
To be completely honest and transparent with everyone
supporting our family, here is the exact, all-inclusive cost
breakdown per cycle:
- NeuroCytotron Machine Treatment ($15,000 CAD): The direct cost for the specialized quantum magnetic resonance machine therapy sessions.
- Clinical Support & Advanced Neuro-Imaging ($5,000 CAD): Covers high-resolution MRI neuro-mapping and continuous tracking by the neurosurgical team.
- Hospital Stay, Therapy & Logistical Support ($5,000 CAD): Because a single cycle requires 28 consecutive days on-site, this covers international travel, secure adaptive accommodations, daily medical transport to the clinic, intensive local pediatric physical therapy to pair with the machine, and a vital buffer for direct hospital charges if he requires overnight clinical observation.
- Total Cost Per Cycle: $25,000 CAD
The outcomes after three cycles could provide hope and guidance for families facing similar conditions.
Why We Need Your Help
This specialized treatment is administered overseas and is not covered by provincial health insurance in Canada.
The treatment protocol requires multiple treatment cycles, along with ongoing medical monitoring, rehabilitation, and international travel expenses.
The financial burden is far beyond what our family can manage alone.
How You Can Help
Every contribution, regardless of size, brings us one step closer to giving Trishaan access to this opportunity.
If you are unable to donate, simply sharing our campaign with your family, friends, coworkers, workplace, or community can make an enormous difference.
Sometimes one share reaches the person who can change a child's future.
A Father's Thank You
As parents, we have spent years doing everything possible to help our son. We have crossed continents searching for answers and refused to give up hope.
Today, we are asking for help because we cannot do this alone.
Whether you donate, share our campaign, or simply keep Trishaan in your thoughts and prayers, thank you for standing beside our family.
Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more to us than words can express.
Thank you for standing with our family.
With sincere gratitude,
