Right now we are at rock bottom. I had to beg a friend for a little cash just so we could get food in the house using a Walmart+ trial. I honestly thought we were going to bed hungry. We did not, and I am grateful for that much at least.

Part of how we got here is a mistake we own.

We bought a Mustang. It was Milo’s dream car. It ran fine for one day.

Then it quit.

We have spent the last 36 days trying to figure out what is wrong with it. Thirty-six days with no transportation. No quick store runs. No doctor visits. No margin for error.

Let that sit for a moment.

I will admit Milo is bad with money. He wants too many things, and that makes everything harder. The insurance company I picked works on getting friends to buy in. All my friends are poor, just like me, so that went nowhere.

Without wheels, we have had to cancel much needed doctor visits. Mike has an ulcer on his heel that really needs to be looked at. All I can do right now is keep it clean, medicated, and wrapped. I pray it is not infected under the scab. It is not red or anything, so that is at least a good sign.

Mom is off her meds because we cannot get anywhere.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

This whole doom spiral feels ridiculous, and I hate that it has come to begging friends just to survive. So many people walked away, and I do not blame them. I cried every time I lost one.

Every time I ask for help, I feel like a useless scammer because my life is such a mess. But the truth is simple.

Before all of this, we had a van. Our old van. We called it the Orange Crusher.

It was not pretty, but it was reliable.

We traded it off for a Honda, trying to be practical. The new owner fixed a few things on it. After everything fell apart, he offered it back to us for $1,000.

We are trying to get our old van back. It is reliable. We know it works. Getting it back would cost about $1,000.

That one thing would change everything.

It would let us get to doctors. It would let us get medications. It would let us buy food without begging. It would allow us to uber and door dash again. It would help us stop spiraling.

On top of that, we currently have no rent money. That pressure is sitting on us every day.

We are not asking for luxury. We are asking for stability.

Right now, a working vehicle and keeping a roof over our heads would feel like a miracle.
