Hello, my name is Peter and I need your help.

I have been living with kidney failure for over a decade and I depend on hemodialysis treatments at RVH in Barrie, Ontario. I also receive the Ontario Disability Support Program, which barely covers my basic expenses.

Winter is coming and I need a new pair of boots to keep my feet warm and prevent me from slipping on the ice. My old boots are falling apart after 11 years of use. A good pair of winter boots costs more than $200, which is a lot for me.

Another thing that I need is a new laptop. My current one is 8 years old and it's very slow and unreliable. I can't update it anymore and sometimes it doesn't connect to the internet. I use my laptop for job applications as well as many volunteer activities that I enjoy and that give meaning to my life. I volunteer at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), Living Green Barrie, and Journey to Diversity Workplaces. These are all great organizations that make a positive difference in our community. Without a laptop, I would have to reduce my volunteering because most of it is done online due to COVID-19.
