Our family brought Chata into our lives in August 2010. We had just made an out of state move and decided that a dog would help the kids acclimate to their new town. We were browsing the pet ads on Craigslist and she was front and center in a photo with her litter mates. Something about her eyes and that white chest! We called and in a twist of fate she was the last puppy not spoken for! We jumped in the car and drove to Benton Illinois to pick her up and it was love at first sight. She has been with us through thick and thin ever since. She just turned 12 in June and has been a very healthy dog until her arthritis seems to have gotten her down this month. We have already spent about $1,000 for the month of August and testing an additional medication. We do not feel like she is ready to give up and neither are we but her steroid injections and CBD supplements will be costly. I think and the vet thinks with aggressive pain management we can get a couple more years of love from our baby dog.
