My name is Megan Brice, this is my husbands statement of what our lives have turned into since August 2018.

My name is William “Cory”. My family and I are going through a crazy amount of heartache. I’m a traveling pipeliner by profession and on August 13th 2018, my two month old daughter choked while feeding her and stopped breathing. I was home alone with her while my wife ran to the grocery store after I just got home from work. I called 911 to have our little girl rushed to the local hospital. Where the doctors had later her examined at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Ohio. They gave us a clean bill of health and told us that she was just colic that we should return home and keep an eye on her.We immediately disagreed with their diagnosis and requested to be sent to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA (as we are from this area). Within a couple hours of having our daughter examined there, the doctors came back with her results from the CT scan. The doctors stated she had a small bleed on her brain on the back of her head. Once admitting us to the “PICU” they did an examination of her eyes and stated she had retanl hemorrhaging behind both eyes. Her right eye more than her left. All of the things the doctors found were going to heal themselves. The hospital got CYS (Children Youth Services)and the police involved. Then accusing me with “Shaken Baby Syndrome/ Abusive Head Trauma”. My wife’s family as well as mine are left in disgust and disbelief that anyone could accuse myself of something this severe. I’m facing felony charges in the state of Ohio for aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child. I’m facing 4 to 16 years for something I didn’t do. Our lives have been flipped upside down beyond belief. Our daughter was in the care of her grandmother (my wife’s mother) till we got the issues resolved. While in her care the grandmother put Protection from Abuse Orders on my wife and I. My wife now only has 1 hour visits evey other week at CYS’s office to see our now 8 month old daughter. Since our daughter has been in her grandmothers care, she has not seen any of my wife’s family that stands by our side and hasn’t seen any of my family due to the fact they are related to me. I also have two older boys that haven’t seen their sister in over 6 months.
Upon speaking with my lawyer and medical experts that have been apart of the “Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma” world for years as they continue to debunk it as it based as a theroy with no proven science to back it, they have stated that we are just another case of being falsely accused of what is a clear case of “birth trama” being misdiagnosed. My daughter had to be cut and suctioned from my wife. They removed the suction and replaced on our daughters 5-6 times to try and get better angles on my daughters skull to pull her from the vaginal canal. Still to this day our daughter has a large spot on her head where they placed the suction on her. There is a 45-50% chance of newborns to have brain hemmoraging with a natural birth without even using suctioning tools(backer by actual science along with CT scans and MRI’s) These brain hemmorages can last anywhere from 1-3 months after birth (our daughter was 2 at the time of this incident). We have been in contact with doctors from the movie “The Syndrome” (a movie that debunks Shaken Baby Syndrome using biomechanical engineering) , doctors from the Torn Family Foundation, etc.

I fully believed that Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma was a legitimate medical explanation and diagnosis before this happened as I was firefighter in our town(taught to believe what were told by paramedics who learn from almost the same course of study doctors do) ,so I expect not many of you would believe that I am an innocent man,and that is ok. I know myself have seen many cases like this on tv, internet,YouTube etc. found myself being very close minded and fully believing the doctors who backed this theroy clear up until the day I myself was accused of this. I ask that you do research and look into the evidence that proves Shaken Baby Syndrome is not a real diagnosis. My family and I are at a loss. Our funds have completely ran dry and we don’t know what else to do. We want our/my name cleared, but more importantly we want our baby girl back (who is very well alive and in healthy condition)

I myself have donated to many different go fund me accounts for families in need in what was the worst times of their lives I’m sure. This is where my family is at. This is by far the hardest and most heartbreaking thing we have endured in our entire lives! So please my family and I beg you, please help us!!
