Hello everyone!! First of all I know it says the deadline is winding down but after that deadline you can still contribute!! The website allows me to continue taking donations until I officially end the fundraiser on June 10- not at the end of the countdown. Secondly, thanks to all of you guys I have raised about $3000! I know the website doesn't display that, but I have been fortunate enough to recieve many checks and cash from people in person and have almost reached my goal. With that being said, I may be close but contributions are still needed so please donate if you can!! Thanks everyone :) I promise your money isn't going to waste!! Check out the updates to find out the latest news on what's going on!

This summer, I will be in the Philippines for about three weeks. I've come up with this possible project idea, and I would love to see if anyone out there is willing to help me bring this crazy thought to life. I would like to donate various percussion and stringed instruments to my cousin's school located in Isabela, thus giving hundreds of kids the opportunity to physically play music along with anyone in the village who is interested in learning. I plan on donating roughly 20 ukuleles (about 10 of them being more upscale), 10 guitars, 3 guitaleles, and various percussion instruments (cowbells included, of course) to the school and then giving about 10 kids (who seem genuinely interested in music) their own ukulele. While visiting, I plan to teach some of the kids there while also getting some one-on-one time with any teacher who's willing to guide the kids through the music books once I leave. I'll be using a room inside the school to set up a practice area and although this project is primarily directed towards students, I hope to create an environment where everyone in the village is welcome. Music teaches people a large variety of learning techniques while developing both physical and mental skills. It is something that I personally think everyone deserves a chance at. For all I know, one of those kids could be the next Hendrix. Let's give them a chance to shine!

Shout out to Joaquin Erickson for thinking of a rad name for this thing

Now, for those of you who don't know me very well, I probably sound a bit crazy. Let's face it. For all you know, I could just be some teenager that can barely play guitar in the first place and wouldn't even know what to do if told to teach someone. So, if you're interested, here's my little bio that I had to make when originally setting all this up on Kickstarter.

Hi there! I'm Tiffany. Music is something that I've been passionate about ever since I was a little kid. I picked up a guitar for the first time in 7th grade and it was simply love at first sight. I've been taking lessons with David Hoge for about four and a half years now. The environment he creates is one where the kids are able to teach each other, providing me with years filled with everything from tabbing out Katy Perry songs to bribing four year olds with cookies in exchange for playing a scale. By the time high school came around, it was a no brainer for me to take a guitar class instructed by Edward Prasse. Now, as a junior at Leon High, I'm able to participate in frets (the top guitar ensemble at Leon) and Canboulay (the highest-ranked steel band at Leon). After school, I'm able to play bass guitar for Pan Groove (a group of pan players given multiple gig opportunities throughout the year) and perform with The Big Bend Filipino American Association whenever their choir gets a gig. When practicing guitar, I could be playing anything from The Story So Far to a Carcassi study. My freshman year I played the Crazy Train solo. On the other hand, I just spent a week in Tampa participating in the FMEA All-State ensemble for classical guitar. I love being able to practice and perform a wide variety of music despite the confusion that comes up when I'm asked what kind of music I play. I practice, I perform, and I teach. I love watching kids make progress and really become passionate about music and I hope to spend a couple of weeks out of my summer seeing this progress happen with children in the Philippines.
