Braeden Havens has been on the fast track for much of his 21 years. Starting in go-karts, the college sophomore has progressed from the dirt karting tracks to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the upper reaches of West Coast late model racing.

On October 3, Havens has the opportunity to race in the most prestigious late model stock car race in the country,–the MDCU 300 at Martinsville Speedway. The event pays a cool $25,000 along with the track’s iconic trophy, a grandfather clock, to the winner. Over 75 drivers look to make the starting lineup each year in a race that features the best short track drivers in the United States.
