Please help the parents of Bearden Middle School Technology Association (TSA) Students send their children to the State and National Conventions in 2015 and beyond.
We are raising money for our middle school's TSA chapter which is almost entirely funded by parents. Each year the TSA chapter of Bearden Middle School sends a group of students to Regional, State and National conventions. At these conventions students attend leadership sessions and compete in technology, engineering, science, math and leadership based events. Students from BMS are consistantly top 10 finishers in events in which they participate at the State and National level. In recent years it has become quite expensive to send all of the students that desire to attend. In 2014, the cost to a parent to send one student to both state and national conventions was roughly $1000. These kids are dedicated and driven to learn about technology, science, math and engineering. They spend hours before and after school studying, planning and practicing for their events. These students are the future of these fields. Your donation will help more students achieve a higher level of education and experience than would otherwise be provided for them in a public school. Costs covered by donations would be transportation, housing, supplies for events and TSA convention fees.

TSA is a national organization. The following is from their website:
" Mission Statement
The Technology Student Association fosters personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); members apply and integrate these concepts through co-curricular activities, competitions, and related programs.
The Technology Student Association's Motto:
Learning To Live In A Technical World
The Technology Student Association's Creed:
I believe that Technology Education holds an important place in my life in the technical world. I believe there is a need for the development of good attitudes concerning work, tools, materials, experimentation, and processes of industry. Guided by my teachers, artisans from industry, and my own initiative, I will strive to do my best in making my school, community, state, and nation better places in which to live. I will accept the responsibilities that are mine. I will accept the theories that are supported by proper evidence. I will explore on my own for safer, more effective methods of working and living. I will strive to develop a cooperative attitude and will exercise tact and respect for other individuals. Through the work of my hands and mind, I will express my ideas to the best of my ability. I will make it my goal to do better each day the task before me, and to be steadfast in my belief in my God, and my fellow Americans."
Thank you very much for taking the time to read our plea.
