Belle is a 10 yr old breeding stock paint mare who I took to foster last September because her original foster/rescuer could not...Belle came to me emaciated and with a severe hoof injury to her front hoof ...her previous owners never had this injury treated and continued to ride her even though she was severely lame and in pain...as a result her Coffin Bone slipped...to add insult to injury the previous owner decided to trim her foot himself using a Machete resulting in that hoof having very little toe left and giving the appearance of a Club Foot. She has been on a Hoof Supplement along with good hay, feed and corrective farrier care every 4-5 weeks, to reshape the hoof, and corrective front shoes. She will also need a follow up xray soon to see what progress if any has occured.  Belle was only to be in my care for a period of 30-60 days until she was back up to weight and healthy enough to travel to the Rescue who said they would take her...the rescue backed out a week before she was due to be transported and no other rescue can or will take her at this time...as a result Belle is still with me and has been for several months...As a temporary foster caregiver I budget my expenses for each foster based on a 30-60 day time limit but my finances have all but run dry...I do not have sponsors, benefactors etc so all expenses are out of pocket and I now need help.  Along with the expense of farrier care, supplements, hay and feed, Belle will also need her vaccines and her teeth floated soon....I need help to see Belle through the remainder of the year for everything she needs while I continue to try and place her with a rescue or sanctuary...please donate what you can no amount is to small and will be greatly appreciated....thank you.
