This April marks the 20th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide.

Hundreds of thousands of children were orphaned. As these children come of age, FORGES, Friends of Rwandan Genocide Survivors, wants to help them rebuild their lives through education.

This April marks the 20th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide.

The genocide left hundreds of thousands of orphans making orphaned children one of the most impacted groups in Rwandan society. Even twenty years later, the aftermath of the genocide carries harsh everyday realities for orphans.

Without role models and support systems, they have been left to raise themselves in the midst of dealing with serious psychological, emotional, and physical trauma. Some have created small families with other orphans but many are left to make lives for themselves as they navigate adulthood in post-genocide Rwanda.

FORGES* - Friends of Rwanda Genocide Survivors, is an organization started by widows of the genocide to fill the gaps for these children by raising funds to support their educational needs: tuition fees, books, and other needs to support a healthy path to attaining education.

In remembrance of the 20th anniversary of the genocide, help us raise funds to continue supporting these inspiring young people and to give them the chance to build futures for themselves and their country.

*FORGES is 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are deductible. Please  contact if you have any questions or need proof of your donation.
