After travelling to and from Toronto all summer to compete in the Ontario Cup, Ottawa's very own Gloucester Celtic - Men’s Premier Team representing the Ottawa Gloucester Soccer Club, won the Ontario Cup Finals and were crowned Provincial Champions.

GOAAAAAAAAAL – Was Reached!
Although our arrival to Halifax was via a very “turbulent flight” in the wee morning hours on October 8th – our fundraising efforts and the response we received was absolutely solid!
At last count the Gloucester Celtic Men’s Premier Team had over 118 contributors to our “Journey to Nationals” fundraising campaign. We are all humbled by your generosity and we are thrilled to announce that we have achieved our fundraising goal!
We must give special thanks to the Gloucester Hornets Senior Recreational Club, The Hill Charity Golf Classic and Lannick Recruitment Ottawa for their very generous external donations that have allowed us to meet and exceed our goal! We are fortunate enough to be able to give back to the Pat Dinardo Benevolence Fund and hopefully fund some future players through our youth program. We would also like to thank Adidas and Disalvo Sports for providing us with gear to help us battle the elements off the field while on the east coast!
Over the next few days, we will be providing updates on the site as well as through our twitter account @G_Celtic.

Original Story

After travelling to and from Toronto all summer to compete in the Ontario Cup, Ottawa's very own  Gloucester Celtic - Men’s Premier Team representing the Ottawa Gloucester Soccer Club, won the Ontario Cup Finals and were crowned Provincial Champions. History was made in Oshawa on September 15th 2013 as this achievement is a first for the club!

It’s been a stellar season this year for the Men’s Team. Winning the league for the 3rd straight season and winning the Ottawa Cup for a second consecutive year!

And the journey continues; representing Ontario at the - 2013 Canadian Soccer Association Sport Chek National Club Championships – Halifax Nova Scotia. This is the top level of senior amateur soccer in the country where Men’s and Women’s teams from across Canada will be arriving on the week of October 8-14 to compete for the National Title.

As Gloucester moves in to high gear in preparation for this gruelling week long competition, there is also a new challenge that faces us.   Funding! Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 which will help offset flight and accommodation expenses so that every member of our team can afford to travel and compete.

Every donation counts! We HOPE we can count on you to help us reach our goal!

Yours in the spirit of the beautiful game,

Gloucester Men’s Premier Team
