Brandi Byers hasn't added a story.
I was born to a mother named Sasha and I had 3 other brothers and sisters. For some reason my mommy couldn’t feed us, she was always so tired and hungry. I don’t understand it, my human parents aren’t going hungry. Maybe this is what my life is meant to be like. Maybe I’m a bad boy and didn’t know it; I just can’t figure out what we did wrong.
July 22, 2013 was a day that changed my life forever. My human dad picked up my mommy and put the 4 of us in a box. We went for drive and this person placed my mommy behind a trash can. He put the box with us in it close by as well. It’s dark in this box and my litter mates aren’t doing so good. I just want my mommy but I can’t find her.
I don’t know how long we were in that box but it seemed like FOREVER! Suddenly this and woman are there. They let us go and I see my mommy. I’m scared; she won’t let me near her. She looks so sad. These nice people are trying to give us water but we are all so weak. WAIT, there is a huge truck pulling up. Another man gets out and comes to help us. I hear him talking to the other people. My mommy and one litter mate is dead. I don’t like that word. It sounds so… permanent. What’s going to happen to us now, I wonder? No one knows what to do! The man in the truck calls someone, and the next thing I know we are loaded up and heading somewhere else. This is the beginning of a new life for me. I just didn’t know it at the time.
*Beecher and his litter mates came to us sick, starved and full of worms. His brother passed away 24 hours after we got him home and his sister passed away within 48 hours. Also at the 48 hour mark Beecher himself took a turn for the worse and had to have a blood transfusion and IV fluids, among other things, or we felt sure we would lose him as well. Beecher started out weighing just 1 pound at 6 weeks of age. Beecher is a Pit Bull (mix?) so he was severely under weight. As of today almost 4 weeks later Beecher is officially out of the woods and starting to live the life of a normal puppy who knows he is very much loved.
Beecher still has at least 2 more vet visits to get through before he has a 100% clean bill of health, this will also include the final 2 rounds of puppy shots. If you can help we would be oh so very grateful.
Any donations remaining at the end will be given to the local Animal Control in the form of supplies, such as bleach, towels, dog / cat food. These are things that I have been informed are needed sometimes more than money. So please consider helping us if you can.
Much love from Beecher and his family!
