Jodie My little girl of 10 years old was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on the 3rd of December 2012. Jodie now 11 does not respond well to the chemotherapy and is allergic to a vital part of the treatment. As a result she is at high risk for relapse and will need a bone marrow transplant. We do not have the finances for this. The government only covers the cost of the operation not the cost of finding a donor or testing for a match. We have already been told there is no match in SA for her so we have to look oversees. The cost of each test is around R50.000 and it can take up to 10 people to be tested before a match is found, then to transport the bone marrow is another R250.000. We have been advised that it would be cheaper for us to move to England as there are possible matches there but still we don't have the finances for that either. All we want is our little girl to grow up. I know in my heart she is destined for more than this but I can't make it happen alone, so I plead with all who reads this please have a heart and help us help her. My gratitude in advance. A loving mother, Uanita Daniell
