My name is Tetiana, I am 26 years old, and I am a mother to a 10-year-old girl. We live in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine — a city that has been living alongside the war for a long time.

I never imagined that one day my biggest dream would not be a new home, an expensive car, or a comfortable life. Today, my biggest dream is simply to wake up in the morning knowing that my daughter is safe.

Every day, we live with fear and uncertainty. We hear explosions and shelling. Every time the air-raid siren sounds, I look at my child and think only one thing: “Please, let nothing happen to her.” It is impossible to put into words what a mother feels when she knows she cannot completely protect her child from war.

Our home was destroyed, and we have been facing serious difficulties with housing ever since. We no longer have the stability or the feeling that we have a place where we can truly feel safe.

That is why I have made an incredibly difficult decision — to leave Ukraine with my daughter and try to rebuild our lives somewhere safe.

But leaving requires money. We need to prepare and obtain the necessary documents, pay for transportation, find temporary accommodation, and have at least a small amount of money to cover our basic needs after we arrive. As a single mother, this is more than I can manage on my own.

I am not asking for anything extravagant. I am simply asking for help to do something that is currently almost impossible for me alone — to take my child away from danger and give her a chance to have a peaceful childhood.
