Help Me Finally Pursue My Childhood Dream of Becoming a Gaming Streamer

I never thought I would ask strangers for help with something like this.

Hi everyone.

I'm 25 years old, and since 2021 I haven't really felt like I've been living the kind of life I once imagined for myself.

I'm currently going through a difficult and uncertain period in my life. I live in Ukraine, where the ongoing war has made everyday life unpredictable and made it difficult to build any kind of stable future, and for a long time I've been putting aside something that might sound insignificant to some people.

A childhood dream.

Recently, something happened that made me stop and think about how long I can continue postponing the things I genuinely want to try.

So, for the first time, I'm allowing myself to ask for help.

And I want to explain why.

Where my dream came from

Growing up, I wasn't particularly happy with the way my life was going.

I didn't really understand what I could change or where I was supposed to go. Like many people, I found a way to escape from things I didn't know how to deal with.

For me, that escape was video games and the internet.

Games gave me colorful worlds to disappear into. They distracted me from problems and gave me something positive to focus on.

But there was something else that mattered even more.

Through the internet, I didn't feel completely alone.

From my room, I could watch people from all over the world play games, talk, joke around and share their experiences.

I spent countless hours watching gaming YouTubers and eventually discovered streamers as well.

And somewhere along the way, I started thinking:

"I would love to do this too."

Not necessarily because I wanted fame or money.

I liked the idea of creating a place where people could come together.

A place where I could play games I enjoy, share my experiences, talk to people, make jokes, learn from others and hopefully make someone's day a little better.

That became one of those dreams that never completely disappeared.

Why did I never start?

Unfortunately, I never had the hardware to make it possible.

A modern gaming PC capable of running demanding games while simultaneously handling streaming or recording software has always been outside what I could realistically afford.

There were periods when I worked and thought:

"I'll save up and eventually do it."

But life has a way of changing priorities.

There was always something that seemed more important.

Bills.

Problems.

Uncertainty.

Things that made a dream like this feel childish and inappropriate to even think about.

So I kept postponing it.

One year became another.

And eventually I got used to ignoring the idea completely.

Something changed recently

A few days ago, I went through a situation that affected me more than I expected.

It made me realize something uncomfortable:

I've spent a huge amount of time waiting for the right circumstances before allowing myself to try anything that actually matters to me.

And the "right circumstances" never came.

Maybe they never will.

At the moment, I'm simply not in a position where I can save enough money for a good computer and the equipment I need.

I don't have a stable financial situation that would make this possible in the foreseeable future.

And that's why I'm trying something I never thought I'd do.

I'm asking strangers on the internet for help.

What I'm trying to achieve

My goal is simple.

I want to get a sufficiently powerful gaming PC and a good headset so that I can finally start streaming and recording games properly.

I want to give myself a real opportunity to pursue gaming content creation and see what I can actually make of it.

I am not promising that I will become famous.

I'm not promising that this will turn into a career.

I don't even know whether I'll be good at it.

And I think that's important to say.

I'm simply tired of never finding out.

I'd rather try and fail than spend the rest of my life wondering what might have happened if I'd given myself one real chance.

Where the money will go

The funds will be used primarily for:

• A gaming PC powerful enough for modern games and simultaneous streaming/recording
• A good-quality gaming headset with a usable microphone
• Any essential accessories needed to actually start creating content

If the campaign exceeds the amount needed for the initial setup, I will explain publicly how the additional funds are used.

My intention is not to simply buy equipment and disappear.

I want the people who decide to support me to be able to see what their support made possible.

I want to be transparent

This is important to me.

If people are genuinely interested in this project, I want to share the process rather than simply asking for money once and disappearing.

I'll share updates about the amount raised, the equipment I'm able to purchase, the process of setting everything up and, eventually, the content I create.

If this actually becomes something meaningful, the people who helped me get started will have been part of the story from the very beginning.

Why I'm doing this

Maybe this is just a silly dream.

Maybe I'm starting much too late.

Maybe nothing will come from it.

But I don't want fear, circumstances or the expectation of failure to make that decision for me anymore.

I want to try.

That's all I'm really asking for.

One chance to stop saying "maybe someday" and finally say:

"Let's see what happens."
