My dad and I are struggling financially and need help keeping up with our bills and debts.

Hello! My name is Avril, but I go by Ceri online (they/them/she/her), I'm 18 years old. I'm from Argentina and I'm currently living with my dad after he divorced my mom, two years ago.

Ever since the separation, our family basically fell apart completely, to be honest. The divorce wasn't settled amicably, because my dad left my mom due to her being mentally unstable and emotionally abusive, not just to him, but to all her kids (me, my two older siblings, and sometimes my youngest sister). Due to a lot of situations we dealt with at home, me and my dad even got prescribed anti-depressants and anti-psychotics and our mental health basically plummeted. He was diagnosed with PTSD, and I had to be closely monitored due to depressive episodes that almost led to me committing a few times. Due to these things, I also moved out, and ended up living with my dad, at request from my psychiatrist.

Emotionally, I feel so much happier now that I'm with him, but we're both in a lot of stress due to our economic situation being so bad. Since my mom still lives in our house, we had to rent and it easily goes up to 1k usd a month, without even counting extra expenses or food for us or our pets (2 dogs and 4 cats that we had to take with us because my mom hated them). Not to mention, I might have autism, and all the tests and doctor's visits that are required for me to get a proper diagnosis are impossible to pay right now. It's basically kind of like somehow everything waited until this happened to appear all at once and we're practically half homeless at this point, which is insane to think about because before all of this, my dad always made sure I always had everything I needed, back at our house which we don't have access to right now even.

We easily have over $10.000 worth of debts, without even thinking about day to day living expenses or everything we have to pay because of legal claims our mom is pushing against us. The moment I turned 18, I tried to get a job even against my dad's wishes (he wants me to focus on studying and hates when I worry about money, he doesn't like talking to me about this stuff) but even then I couldn't get any because the job market where I live is horrible and you practically have to know someone to get into anything these days.

We're really practically out of options here and I'm honestly making this page because I'm really worried about my dad -- all this stress has taken a serious toll on him and he barely smiles anymore, and the only time I see him do it is when I'm talking to him. Otherwise, he's always stressed. It's been a long time since I've seen him happy, and I'd like to surprise him and help him so he isn't as burdened as he's been, these past years.

"I've set the initial goal at US$10,000 because that is roughly the amount we need to pay for house papers, legal paperwork, and some debts. To be honest, I would not be surprised if we easily needed to pay so much more than that, but honestly 10k is already a lot so I've decided to left the goal as that. I don't expect to reach that amount, but every dollar raised will go toward reducing the financial burden we're currently under. ANY MONEY HELPS. Even if I end up raising less than a thousand dollars, I don't care. Any money that can be raised so that my dad doesn't have to worry about pets' bills, food, paying college, rent, etc is so, so helpful and I'll be forever grateful to anyone who donates, even if it's just a dollar.
