Hello, friends, family, and kind strangers who might be scrolling through this while sipping your morning coffee—or in my case, trying not to spill it all over myself thanks to these unpredictable tremors.
Official Donation Disclaimer
My name is James MacBrien, and at 71 years young, I should be kicking back in retirement, maybe golfing (if I could swing without looking like I'm directing traffic) or skiing or travelling the world with a carefree grin. Instead, I've been dancing—quite literally—with Parkinson's disease since 2016.
And let me tell you, it's not the kind of dance where you lead; this sneaky partner calls all the shots.

Parkinson's isn't just a headline or a celebrity cause—it's my daily reality, and for millions like me, it's a relentless grind.
Picture this:👇️
Every morning, I wake up (after a broken sleep) to muscles that feel like they've been starched overnight, making simple things like buttoning a shirt feel like solving a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. Tremors turn handwriting into abstract art, and walking? Well, let's just say my shuffle sometimes could give the moonwalk a run for its money, but without the cool factor. Balance issues mean I'm always one misstep from an unplanned tumble, speech can slur like I've had one too many (spoiler: I haven't), and don't get me started on the fatigue that hits like a freight train mid-afternoon. It's degenerative, neurological, and degenerative—wait, did I say that twice? That's what brain fog is like.

But hey, as my new hero Michael J. Fox might quip, "At least with Parkinson's, you never have to stir your own coffee—it shakes itself!" Or how about this Fox-ism twist: "I've got so much involuntary movement, I could moonlight as a human maraca band." Michael's been my inspiration lately—as he is still fighting this beast with humour, grit, and a foundation that's raised millions to push research forward. If he can turn his shakes into a superpower for good, so can I.🔥
You see, I've been separated from my wife for over a decade now, and retirement was supposed to be my golden chapter—lazy days, maybe spoiling grand-kids if life had gone differently. But Parkinson's (among other things) flipped the script. I need your help to rewrite it.
The funds from this campaign will go toward stair-free living accommodations (because stairs and I are in a toxic relationship—I'm almost done with climbing them), ongoing therapies to keep my mobility in check, special supplements that may ease and slow down the symptoms without breaking the bank, and even volunteering for experimental treatments and devices. I'm all in on being a guinea pig if it means helping others dodge this bullet or at least soften the blow.
And through it all, I'm determined to keep a good attitude—because why not? Life's too short to let a little (or a lot of) shaking steal my smile and joy for life itself no matter what hand I’ve been dealt.
👉️Now, here's where you come in, my potential heroes and lifesavers.🛟💰️ ✅️
I'm asking for one-time contributions in these amounts:
- $20 to cover transportation expenses.
- $50 to cover specialized diet and nutrition requirements.
- $100 to cover basics like vitamins and supplements for a month.
- $200 to cover advanced nutraceuticals and supplements for a month.
- $500 to cover private home care assistance when needed, or;
- $1,500 to chip away at therapy sessions and advanced medical enhancements such as stem cell therapy, or;
- $3,500 to make a real dent in securing that accessible home/apartment or even 24/7 nursing care if I eventually need it.
Every dollar counts toward turning my daily battles into manageable ones and advancing the fight against Parkinson's and finding a cure for everyone.
And because I believe in giving back (and who doesn't love a perk?), every contributor—no matter the amount—will receive a complimentary stay at a luxury hotel for up to 7 nights (perks have no cash value).
Choose from five popular destinations:✈️⛱️🌴🌞
- 3 Nights at World Famous Niagara Falls, CANADA (with your $20 contribution) or
- 3 Nights Adventure at Las Vegas, NV USA (with your $50 contribution) or
- 5 Nights at World Famous Cancun Riviera Maya, Mexico (with your $100 contribution) or
- 5 Nights at World Famous Cancun Riviera Maya, Mexico (with your $200 contribution) or

- 7 Nights at Serene Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (with your $3,500 contribution).
(taxes and travel not included, but hey, the relaxation is on me!).
If Michael's taught me anything, it's that we don't have to go down without a fight—or a laugh.
