Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted people,

My name is Marijana Babić, and I live in Zagreb, Croatia.
I am a single mother to my 18-year-old daughter, Sara, who is 100% disabled.

Sara has faced severe health challenges since birth. She suffers from epilepsy and cortical blindness, and from the age of three she has had tetraparesis. Over the years, she has also been diagnosed with severe intellectual disability with autistic traits, psychosis, and several other serious medical conditions. She requires constant care and assistance in all aspects of daily life.

In addition to caring for Sara on my own, I also struggle with my own health issues, including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, menopausal complications, and gallstones. These conditions make the physical demands of caring for Sara extremely difficult, yet I do everything I can to provide her with the medications, supplements, and therapies she needs to maintain the best possible quality of life.

Unfortunately, our current vehicle is in very poor condition and is not wheelchair accessible. It does not have a ramp, which means I must physically lift Sara and place her into the seat by myself. Each time I need to use the building ramp, I require the help of another person to lift her safely. This situation is physically exhausting, unsafe, and unsustainable.

For this reason, we urgently need:
- a wheelchair-accessible vehicle equipped with a ramp, and
- an electric wheelchair with a low walking-speed option, which Sara can operate safely and which would greatly improve her mobility and independence.

The goal of this public fundraising campaign is to raise €44,121.65, which will allow us to purchase:
- a suitable accessible vehicle,
- a proper ramp, and
- an electric motorized wheelchair.

Every donation, regardless of the amount, will make a real and immediate difference in our lives. These essentials would allow me to care for Sara without constantly relying on outside help and would give Sara a greater sense of dignity, comfort, and independence.
