I’m Celine Heeps, and I’ve dedicated my life to supporting widowed seniors through companionship, emotional and financial support, and providing the practical help they need to flourish in their sunset years.

My Comprehensive Approach:

My strong background in social services, senior care, and senior advocacy allows me to employ a multi-faceted and personalized approach to help widowed seniors maintain their independence and rediscover their enthusiasm for life.

1. Advocacy: I personally accompany them to medical appointments and advocate for their needs in the hospital. Everyone deserves a voice, and I make sure theirs is heard.
2. Post-Operative Care: Whether it’s a hospital visit or home care, I ensure that they receive the care and comfort they need to recover smoothly.
3. Companionship: From library visits to shared meals and even video calls with family, I believe in the profound power of human connection and make sure seniors in my care feel loved and do not feel alone.
4. Mental Health Advocacy: With my expertise in psychology, I understand the crucial role mental well-being plays in overall health. I work tirelessly to ensure their mental health needs are at the core of a comprehensive plan of care.
5. Groceries: Through weekly grocery deliveries, I supplement Food Bank resources, ensuring they have nutritious meals, every day, without worry.
6. Below Market Housing: Navigating the housing system can be daunting. I know the system and I assist with paperwork and connect with non-profit housing organizations to secure affordable rental housing for those in my care.

My Dear Friend Bud:

Beloved by family and friends, Bud has had a remarkable life and career in the RCAF. As a 31 year veteran of the Cold War, he holds the Canadian Altitude Record (over 100,000 ft), and is a member of Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame whose achievements are celebrated across Canada.

An outstanding athlete and hockey player at UCC and RMC, he played for the RCAF Flyers against the top National teams in Europe. Also an accomplished skier, he became a certified Racing Coach, and instructed for 15 years in Whistler Blackcomb

Bud continued to be integral to the military well into his nineties, organizing and emceeing RCAF events across Canada until he suffered a debilitating stroke at the age of 94.

Suffering from hemiparesis, the road to recovery has been slow, but Bud remains positive, and steadfastly committed to his rehabilitation, with the goal of rejoining his colleagues at RCAF events in the near future.

Currently residing in a care facility, Bud is in need of private physio and occupational therapy services, and ultimately an electric wheelchair to increase his independence. Social in nature, his favourite pastimes include watching his grandchildren play baseball, and dining out with his friends, both of which require rental of a mobility vehicle. My goal is to ensure Bud continues to feel supported, valued, and loved.

I am committed to providing complimentary services to all my clients. My time is voluntary, ensuring that all fundraising dollars go towards transportation, equipment, food and specialist services.
