Hey pool fans!
I'm asking for your help to cover my tournament expenses in the upcoming nineball ranking event, the McDermott Open at Amazin Billiards in Boston, Massechusetts this weekend. It's an official nineball ranking event which is crucial to earning invites into the biggest events promoted by Matchroom Sport such as the World Pool Masters and the Mosconi Cup, to name a couple.
You may have heard about my pool playing skills recently from Joe Rogan on his podcast, seen me shooting in pool tournaments on ESPN back in the day, or seen me as the billiards expert on the TV show, Pawn Stars.
Or maybe you may have studied my tutorial videos on YouTube and purchased my book Zen Pool, my DVD Set Powerful Pool, or joined my online video tutorials platform Pro Pool Academy, or even taken private lessons with me to help yourself improve in the sport that all love.
Right now at 50 years of age, I'm still very active as a professional player and have recently been practicing hard and playing well. I've been working out and eating healthy to keep up with the kids of the sport.
I've played in several major events in 2022 and 2023 already, such as the Derby City Classic where I placed in the top 16 out of over 500 players, and in Matchroom Sport's nineball ranking events from the US Open in Atlantic City to the World Pool Championship in Kielce, Poland in January, 2023.
Because the sponsorship opportunities in the billiards industry for the pro players as a whole are limited, I've decided to go this route of crowd funding to ensure that I can compete in the most important pool tournaments. That being said, thank you to Meucci Cues for some support over the last several years, and to all of my sponsors in the past.
So far in my career I've beaten 19 WPA World Champions and scores of the best players in the world, including several from this current crop of young phenoms, over a pro career spanning four decades. I'm a former Junior National Champion, Collegiate National Champion, Derby City Classic Champion, Jay Swanson Memorial 9-Ball Champion, and winner of thousands of tournaments all over the world with my highest pro tour ranking being 3rd in 2003.
My current Fargo Rate is 17th for all USA players and 116th on the Matchroom international nineball ranking list.
Like you, I truly love this sport and in addition to winning pro televised matches and live internet streamed matches, I've entertained live audiences in over a dozen countries with my trick shots and pool lesson clinics.
I am incredibly grateful for your financial help, allowing me continue this journey while the industry is beginning to grow big again.
With gratitude,
Max Eberle
