We are a group of teenagers who are raising funds for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian children who have lost their parents and homes following the advancing invasion in Ukraine. Families have sought refuge in the neighboring countries of Poland, Romania, and Moldova but due to circumstances a vast majority reside in Lviv. Owing to a strain on resources, and the struggle to afford private housing, these families are placed into single bedroom dormitories

Living in congested dormitories under insanitary conditions not only poses physical challenges (especially considering the specter of a global pandemic) on families, but also puts immense emotional strain on their sole caretakers - who are not afforded the luxury of falling sick, with the the wellbeing of their entire family at their hands

Currently, we are trying to raise enough for a family of five siblings who have lost their mother. In her absence, the oldest, a boy of 18 years, has had to provide for his siblings while ensuring their safety. The young man also needs to raise funds for his youngest sister’s speech therapy, his brother’s physiotherapist and tutors for each of them- getting some money for the housing costs will certainly be of great help to this family. The 18-year-old’s  own education has come to a standstill because of the necessity to find employment to support his family. 

We came to learn about this family from several videos on YouTube, one of which received over 1 million views as of 30th May, 2022. We contacted them to understand the true gravity of their situation. Despite all the attention, help has been hard to find - with the family receiving only a single donation till date. Their identities are to not be disclosed as we feel their image has been exploited in the form of cover stories on the internet, especially that of the three younger siblings aged 11 and below. We seek your support in helping out this family of ineffable resilience and courage. 

They are of course not the only ones affected by these events. As mentioned earlier- the war has uprooted many families - leaving them displaced and scarred both physically and emotionally. Our endeavor will certainly not end as we try to connect with families and support organizations who help provide the funding, medical, and psychological care pivotal to their well being.
