Today we mark a sad day for Roga Farm.  Because of heavier than normal snow loads, around 25% of the farm infrastructure collapsed.  We are tremendously grateful that no one was hurt and the cattle being housed there have already been moved to a safe, temporary location.    We are also thankful to those who came to help this morning, at a moment's notice.

Unfortunately, there is no insurance money forthcoming to replace the building and we are asking for help to rebuild.

Anyone who knows the farm recognizes the effort that several generations of the Rommens' family have put into building this business. The generations of Rommens' family have also served the local and farming communities for more than 50 years. In the most recent years, Con Rommens has been part of the Chignecto Soil & Crop Association and has been a leader in innovation with dairy farmers of New Brunswick and the local churches. He has also helped in less known ways, such as housing animals in need when the Confederation Bridge was closed for extended periods due to weather. Rose Rommens is also very active in the community, well known for her infectious smile and dedication to the local school and churches.

We know times are tough and respect that this may not be the right time for you to donate; but if you can help this wholesome, extremely hard-working couple, it would mean the world to them.
