Hi my name is Christina Kyriacou and I love cats. This fundraiser is to collect funds to send strays abroad to good and safe homes.

Cyprus has an overpopulation of stray cats and this is becoming worse every day.

Educating people about neutering pets and not dumping unwanted litters in fields and dustbins is an ongoing process and will take years to start bearing fruit. 

In the meantime, we get requests on a daily basis for kittens that have been found and are in need of homes. Shortage of fosters in Cyprus is a large obstacle in our efforts. We have a reputable and reliable network of foster homes abroad but this means we need to get the kittens and cats there first. It is easier for the kittens to get adopted if they are in the UK or Europe where potential adopters can meet the kitten or cat and interact with him/her.

This is our purpose. To raise funds to enable us to fly these cats over to their fosters, so they have a better chance of being adopted rather than expecting them to be adopted by a photo or video seen on our Cyprus fosters profiles. 

Most of the times we have to turn away these calls for help, and as heartbreaking as it is for us, there simply are not enough foster homes in Cyprus to be able to save all the kittens on the streets. 

Therefore we have started this fundraiser to be able to get the kittens in our care to pre-approved fosters abroad so we can make space available for more kittens in our local foster homes. And so the cycle continues. When they get adopted space is made for more kittens to go abroad.
