Ann LaBelle hasn't added a story.
Bruno went in two weeks ago for his blood work & urine tests to check his bodies response to the chemo treatment. He is looking amazing and we were very excited to see all the masses go down and some even disappear! Unfortunately, when the tests came back from the lab it showed that his white blood cell count had gone down considerably in response to the chemo drug (Pallidia) that has been helping him.
In response to the results, Dr. T tweaked his dosing of the Pallidia, but kept his other supportive medications (to fight the side effects of the chemo) the same. We have been struggling with some poop issues (a side effect of the chemo) and have been working on a combo of oils and bananas with his supportive meds to try and get him solid again. It has been up and down but we think we may have finally found a combo that is helping as there is no more blood in his fecal and it's forming...slowly.
He spent two weeks on the new dosing and went in again on Monday for retesting. The little tweak that Dr. T did was just right. His lab work showed that his white blood cell count doubled in the past two weeks! He is responding beautifully...YAY! And the masses are still gone at this point....Big YAY!!! So for now he is staying on the medications as they are and not changing a thing.
He will go back in the first week of February for another round of tests, but if they come back again with good numbers his testing can go to every six weeks (unless we notice an issue, then he'll go in sooner). Paws crossed he can go to the six weeks and continues to respond so positively.
Bruno needs your help though to cover his bills as they add up before he goes back in February 3rd. He can't get the testing he'll need until the last two appointments are covered:
January 6th was $228 for his lab testing, $43.80 for his supportive medications and $29 for in house testing for his blood pressure.
January 20th was $46 for in house labs, $43.80 for his supportive medications and $470 for his Chemo medication (the Pallidia).
Both visits with medications total $860.60...ouch! But Bruno is doing so absolutely amazing. He is smiling more, playing, eating well again and loving life again. Can you help Bruno in his fight with cancer? $1,$5,$10....your support helps this hunk continue his battle. Thank you!
