Hello, I am raising money so that I may find a home for my daughter and I after running away from my abusive husband. I was married to man 15 years her senior who for the past several years was controlling, and very abusive to me due to his alcohol addiction. I finally had the courage to escape with just the clothes on our backs. 

I was married to a functioning alcoholic and being that he was well known in the community, educated, and well like by his peers, his drinking was a well kept secret. Behind closed doors he was a monster. During the marriage he manipulated me to become totally dependent upon him financially.  He didn’t allow me to work and out of fear, I didn’t and I felt trapped. I knew I could no longer allow this man to abuse me and I had to get my daughter out of that environment even if it meant leaving the only home she’s even known.

It has been 30 days since we left and we are currently moving around from place to place staying with different relatives that I can trust all while not wanting to be much of a burden on them. I recently found a job at a restaurant while I figure things out. All I wanted was to be free of my toxic marriage, while maintaining a sense of stability for my daughter while going through this difficult process. I am praying the Lord will guide my steps and provide a better way. I must be strong for my daughter. There has to be light at the end of this tunnel.
