The Sociedad Geofísica de la Universidad Simón Bolívar (Society of
Exploration Geophysicists Student chapter Simon Bolivar University) is
an active Student Chapter, located in Caracas, Venezuela.
We
were invited to the Geonature 2018 conference, which is going to be
held on the 18-21 April, 2018 in the heart of Western Siberia, the
Siberian capital of oil and gas of Russia-Tyumen (Industrial
University of Tyumenr).
Since we are always looking forward to
developing our geophysical and professional skills assisting to this
conference, will provide us a unique opportunity to learn all the
aspects about the topics listed below (see Geonature 2018 conference
information), an exciting cultural exchange in a foreign country and
will help us to improve our communication skills in another language
(English) and the opportunity to know other professional geoscientists
from all the world. Also we were invited to the roundtable discussion
and the poster session which will take place during the conference
with the purpose of presenting our local scientific community, talking
about the most important topics of our region, and sharing our
experience.
Unfortunately, right now we can't afford the airplane
tickets (Venezuela-Russia) due to the political and economic situation
of our country, and that's why we are asking for your help. Lunches,
coffee breaks, and accommodation with all amenities at the hostel of
the Industrial University of Tyumen will be provided for the
conference's organization team.
Our member team consists of 5
people: Arianna Castrechini (president), Jose Tomas Del Castillo
(Vice-President), Katy Lin (Treasurer), Maria Gabriela Hinojosa
(Secretary), Carianna Herrera (Events Coordinator) (see our LinkedIn
profiles at the bottom of the page).
We are asking for a 5000$ help because we are hoping that at least 3 of us can go to Geonature 2018 (every plane ticket cost between 1200$-1800). In case we don't reach our goal, we expect at least to send one person of our team who can represent us and live this experience.
EVERY CENT, EVERY DOLLAR WILL HELP, an even if you don't have the money we appreciate you to share with your friends and colleagues.
