I am Cecilia Tung, a BC Deaf curler who is recently chosen by Team Canada as their fifth for the 3rd World Deaf Curling Championships in Sochi, Russia (www.wdcc2017.com). I am excited to contribute and play with Team Canada. I am 6-Time Canadian Competitor and obtained the silver medal twice representing BC. This is a historic moment for BC as I will be the first BC Deaf female curler to represent for Canada. The Team Canada is Team Jamieson, Alberta Deaf Women’s Curling Team, from Edmonton. We all are beyond excited by this opportunity to compete for our country and we are training hard to bring home the gold.

Team Jamieson consists of four dedicated and skilled athletes: Skip Holly Jamieson (2015 World Junior Curling Champion representing Canada), Third Sally Korol (Two-time Canadian Champion at Deaflympics), Second Nyla Kurylowich (Two-time Canadian Champion at Deaf Worlds), and Lead Andrea Scott (our newest addition and a talented athlete). We are thrilled to have Coach Taina Smiley (Certified Level 3) on board with us.

As the fifth, I must raise $4,000 in order to attend the World Deaf Curling Championships. Any training for competitive sports usually involves considerable costs. Any financial contribution you make will go a long way towards helping us to be in top form for the Championships in Russia. All funds raised will go towards covering the costs for training, airfare, hotel fees, practice fees, Russian visas, team curling bags, Team Canada brooms, additional equipment, jackets, and meals for our two weeks stay in Russia.
