The Real Pearl Foundation (Igazgyongy Alapitvany) is a public benefit non-governmental civil organisation, whose main purpose is the basic art education, talent development, the development of socially disadvantaged and Roma pupils, family care, and the organisation of vocational training courses.

They have been active for 11 years in one of the most disadvantaged regions of Hungary providing an opportunity for creative activity for 670 children. Nearly 70% of the students are underprivileged, of whom around 250 live in deep poverty.

The foundation's aim is to show that talent is present everywhere and great treasures are lost if these children’s potentials are not fulfilled due to their circumstances. Art is just one of many examples of this potential. They work tirelessly to show that instead of stereotypes, these children need to be recognised, and instead of rejection they need to be supported, so that they can find their place in society when they grow up.

I have been admiring Real Pearl Foundation's work, and with my first marathon I am hoping to raise funds for them.

A little technical info for people in the UK. Due to the Foundation being in Hungary Fundrazr will only allow the sums to be shown in the local currency (Forint). When you donate bear in mind that 400HUF is equivalent to £1 only. So don't be shy putting in thousands:-)
