I am a dog rescuer.  My family and I foster and volunteer with a wonderful dog rescue serving the Gulf Coast of Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. Many of the dogs we rescue through the organization and personally, are in need of extra special care and rehabilittion.  At this time, our only option as a family is to bring them inside our home where it is a bit crowded and chaotic, but we make it work.  My husband and I were going to demolish the old shed in our back yard and buy a new one that looked prettier, but then I realized the potential.  We would like to transform this old brown shed into a livable space for special needs dogs. The shed is rather large and still has a good solid floor.  My husband and son put on a new metal roof over the weekend.  Now we need to finish the inside and cover the outside.  We would also like to cross fence our yard into 3 sections so that personal dogs and rehab dogs have their own space.  With that being said, it is a costly endeavor, but I believe one that is worth it!  It has been suggested to me by several friends that I should crate a fundrazr to allow friends & family to donate to the cause.  We are very excited to get this project underway.  When it complete we will be able to provide climate controlled shelter for 6+ special needs dogs/puppies while they undergo their healing and rehabilitation process.  This project will benefit the dogs of the Northwest Florida and South Alabama area.
