Gina Chapman hasn't added a story.

This is a long story Please Read...I recieved a call Yesterday from a sweet woman in Anderson SC. Her little 2 Year old Doxie is really sick. She paid for his blood work on Monday and she is on a fixed income. We paid her vet Yesterday 189.00 for some meds and 2 x rays to rule out anything else. He will need more medicines that we are not sure the cost yet because the vet doesn't carry them. The 2 Prescriprions will have to be bought from the Pharmacy. So this amount will go up. I borrowed money from some of our senior fundraisers since this was an emergency.

Below is copied from the vets email about his diagnosis...

MRS. MORTON BROUGHT HER DOG INTO OUR OFFICE YESTERDAY AFTER BEING SICK FOR A FEW DAYS. WE DID BLOODWORK IN HOUSE AND ALSO SENT BLOODWORK TO AN OUTSIDE LAB FOR RESULTS. THE RESULTS REVEALED THAT ISACC POSSIBLY HAS IMHA (IMMNUE MEDIATED HEMOLYTIC ANEMIA) AND IS SEVERELY ANEMIC. ISACC NEEDS MEDICATIONS TO SUPRESS HIS IMMUNE SYSTEM WHICH IS APPARENTLY ATTACKING HIS RED BLOOD CELLS, UNFORTUNATLY TREATMENT AND HIS MEDICATION CAN BE VERY COSTLY. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE AT 864-878-3044 THANKS,    THE STAFF AND DOCTORS OF PICKENS ANIMAL HOSPITAL

Below is his story written by Jeannie ( Isaccs Mom)

I am actually the 2nd human mommy Isacc has. He was given to me when he was one yr old. I was going through a emotional time due to loosing a precious Chi named Scooter to Parvo and a lady from my church saw my post on FB and she contacted me and gave me Isacc. She said God told her too. Isacc had Parvo when he was 9 wks old and she had borrowed money to put him in an animal hosp in Anderson SC for his care, she rented a mmotel room within a short distance so she would be there with him. She was told he survived because he had such big paws and they were able to access his veins well. Isacc was with us for almost a yr when he began having sezures, we took him to a vet and it wasn't long until they put him on a med for this that he will have to be on for life. Isacc is so beautiful, hes the boss of all our other dogs inc a huge Lab, a Basset Hound and a Pitt my son rescued from being shot by his owners dad. He welcomes my 18 yr olds friends with ferosus barking when they come in and again when they leave but when we figures out his secret we laughed, he did this because he was wanting all of their attention. When they would stop and pet him he hushed and when they stopped and walked off he barked once again. He sleeps with my husband and I and is King of the Cali King bed, sleeping up against us or in the headboard on his special blankets and stuffed animals which he nirses as he goes to sleep. He also nurses our comforters and needless to say I now look for those at thrift stores because we will have to replace them so often. A few days ago Isacc showed signs of weakness and stopped eating so we took him to the vet. He was given three blood test and today it was confirmed that he has an immune disease/disorder called IHMA and it had almost completely wiped out all of his red blood cells. They started him on steroids after explaining to us there were side effects which could cause him other problems. Today he got xrays thanks to payment from you, and also 3 meds for us to give him beginning in the am. and two written persc. which he needs. We love Iascc as a part of our family, his other Mom does too and is very upset. I just thank God he led me to make the phone call yesterday to this Rescue to ask if they could tell me of anyone who might help us.My husband and I are both on low fixed income, I worked 20 yrs at my last job but had to leave due to a disability. I want you to know I will be praying for this organization. Please pray for Isacc and for us his parents that we will be able to give him the care he deserves along with all our love,. I have made it a habit to share post with pic of missing dogs, adding some little message to catch peoples attention and I believe it has helped some to be found. I also share those who are on the urgent list at shelters. My heart is so broken when these animals are abused, neglected, etc. Thank you all for your help.  God Bless you,   Jeannie ( Isaccs Mom)O
