I was diagnosed with Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency early in 2013. There is no cure, but the deficiency can be resolved with a liver transplant. I have tried to maintain a positive attitude and keep a smile on my face. My visits to the hospital, very expensive monthly medication and inability to drive or work is beginning to take is toll, financially.

My sweet son wrote me a letter a few days ago that included $5.00 to go toward the expenses related to a pending transplant. I shared it on Facebook and as people saw it there were several who asked if they could help. As a result of that sweet offering by my son I am setting up this page to accommodate a way in which I could receive the donations offered.  My liver is in the late stages of failing. Currently, the failure causes sleeplessness, fluid restrictions to 1 liter a day, a low sodium/low potassium diet.

My quality of life is compromised as result of the rapid weight loss, getting my belly drained, muscle and hair loss, and feeling sick everyday. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will go to cover medical expenses of the transplant surgery as well as the expensive anti-rejection medication that I will be required to take for the rest of his life. Thank you for considering my situation. Please pass it on. Letter from son
