Meet Jewa, Big Boy and Wera. Imagine if you had the opportunity to change their lives immaculately, forever. I have the chance to do that exact thing and I need as much help as I can. Jewa, Big Boy and Wera are three, sweet and loving boys from the orphanage, Nimit Asia, where I spent three months at in Doy Saket, Chiang Mai, Thailand. During my time at the orphanage I was blessed to be able to get to know each child on a personal level despite the language barrier. On my first day volunteering at Nimit Asia one boy stuck out to me, he was silently sticking to my side the whole night. He was a beautiful 12 year old boy but one thing was different about him, he's cross eyed. This sparked my interest in learning about Jewa, his story and every option he had. I scheduled a meeting with the director, Tutu, and asked her if it was possible for me to have Jewa looked at and find out my options to possibly help him. In my meeting I then found out 2 other boys, Big Boy & Wera, also had severe optical issues. I worked with Tutu and had the children looked at by a doctor to see what could be done and if it was safe. After being turned down by 3 hospitals in Chiang Mai, due to the fact the boys are orphans & it was "not worth it", the 4th hospital brought sad but amazing news to the 3 children. The doctor checked out the boys and reported that the boys were in extreme need of help and it was important that the proper procedures take place to immensely improve these boys lives. This made my mission to help these boys, real & my top priority. I ordered the tests and found out what needs to be done. The doctor found that Jewa extremely needs glasses to correct his Estrophia. Big Boy needs glasses for 3 months and then needs surgery at the end of the 3 months to allow him to see correctly. Finally, he found Wera could not control his eyes, he desperately needs surgery to allow him to have control of his eyes and eye sight. I ordered the glasses for Jewa and Big boy and confirmed Wera & Big Boys surgery. This is where I need you to help me change these boys lives in a million ways. I need to raise $4500 in 3 months to pay for the appointments, tests, glasses, care & most importantly surgeries.
Meet Jewa
Jewa just turned 13 years old, he was born in a Karen Hill Tribe Village in Northern Thailand. His mother died leaving him with his father. Sadly, Jewa's father remarried and did not want Jewa any more, leaving Jewa parentless and orphaned. Jewa is a sweet boy who loves playing soccer despite his lack of coordination and impaired vision. He always helps me clean the dishes and always has a shy smile on his face.
Meet Big Boy
Big Boy is a crazy, silly little boy. Big Boy's father died leaving him with his mother. His mother can not afford to safely keep, feed, or care for Big Boy & his sister. Despite his nickname he is one of the tiniest kids in his house. Even with his lack of teeth, his smile lights up your world. He would never let you see it but he is so loving and helpful. The minute he realizes you see his sweet heart he runs away.
Meet Wera
This boy may be the sweetest soul I have ever met. In my 3 months at Nimit Asia I never once saw him tease anyone or be mean to a child or adult ( the boys are famous for teasing and trouble making). I barely heard him speak but when he did the children & staff listened. One night before I left to go home, Wera was waiting for me outside the kitchen, holding his stuffed animal lizard. He gave me the biggest hug and said "for you", handing me his own stuffed animal. Wera is giving, loving and mature even after so much struggle and pain makes him the strongest person I know.
You have the chance to change these boys lives. They will be able play soccer and make a goal to be proud of. They can feel handsome and confident in themselves after so many jokes, self-consciousness, and struggle to accept themselves. They will be able to safely drive, run, learn, play, and simply live.
Thank you for your time and your help to fund these boys dreams come true.
