My brother Franco Tarsitano has battled a lot of different things in his lifetime and won. But, this time he needs a little more help and support that only you can help give. He has a rare form of cancer that doctors have said they have only seen a few times in their medical careers. Like most cancer patients Franco faces limited treatment, and limited funds to live on.

 This is Franco's own words:

"I'm 61 years old and living with incurable cancer. This 3rd bout, again, is a rare sarcoma with about 300-400 cases a year in the United States. I only have Medicare and unable to qualify for MediCal. Had to quit my job and that may help with qualifying. Still, this means my expenses limit my treatment and care. I am disabled but only receive $999./month from social security.

This cancer has spread to many areas including my anus, lower spine, fingers, face, tongue, head. My doctor's are calling it "bizarre". I'm very scared, alone. I've been unable to get financial assistance, but still trying, and can't make ends meet...fear, destitution, homelessness. I'm hoping that trying different avenues can help me raise the money to continue my life that I love so much."

Franco has come to a crossroads in his life where he is struggling to win more time to live life to the fullest in his own special ways and to have the option to choose how he wants to battle this cancer that is overtaking every area of his life.

Time is becoming critical and he has been without treatment for 30 days and cannot afford to go much longer without it. He is on disability and cannot continue to work his part-time job. He longs to come home to Kenosha, WI where I and his other family members and friends can love him and help take care of him.

Right now, he is living in San Diego, CA and will be reconnecting with Doctors in the Wisconsin area who treated him for cancer back in 2011 hoping to work out some kind of plan to provide for him to fight for a longer life and to be able to live life on his terms and not have cancer dictate how his life should be lived.

Personally, I have great love, compassion and admiration for my brother for a wide variety of reasons. Mostly, I am like the countless thousands of others who reach out to those who can relate to our situation and hope for the best outcome possible instead of just laying down and letting the worse happen. I believe in helping others in order to contribute to a lifestyle of love that will bring about a better way of living and in developing new ways for the next generation to overcome these killer diseases.

I am asking all who come across this article to connect with us to help my brother and to know that our family is a family of givers as well and always will be. No matter who you are, what you have lived or what you believe there comes times in life that you can't do it alone or even with a few others. At times like these it takes a multitude of compassionate givers to save a life in order to see that person be given a chance to at least have a little more time to be with their family and friends.

Franco sees life with such beauty in all things and he has a lot he wants to do and give back to life and I can't think of a better reason to give to in order to fight the cancer that has invaded his body and practically taking over his life.

Please give to help a person who wants to leave this world on his own terms and in his own way. He is not perfect but I know he has more lives to touch in his own special way and any seed you plant in his life will not be wasted.

What I do know above anything else is that when all is said and done, we can't put a price on the value of living. A life is priceless, and giving to a life in order to help save it, is the most highest form of love there is. What I always believed as a child holds true even until today - that Miracles do happen!!!

Thank you for your help, support and prayers! As a family we pray that whatever you have gone through, are going through or will be going through that your needs will be met in all ways, shapes and forms that are needed.

 Thank you,

Franco’s family and friends
