Dear friends and supporters,
I am committed to achieving my goal of participating for Nova Scotia and Canada this summer. I am pursuing excellence in the decathlon. My definition of success is not only by a stopwatch or measuring tape, but also in the quality of effort whether it is in my training or competition. My personal best in the decathlon is 6528pts. I hold Nova Scotia records in the youth Octathlon, the junior and senior indoor pentathlon, and the junior decathlon.
I am looking to be one of the great decathletes to ever come out of Nova Scotia and Canada. I am following in the footsteps of my mentor Jamie Adjetey-Nelson (2010 Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist) and coach Dave Steen (1988 Olympic Decathlon Bronze Medalist). My commitment is not just a narrow-minded sport focus. I believe that the foundation for success is a balance between sport, education, work, friends/family and healthy living. My advocacy for a drug free sport and fair play demonstrates these values.

I have chosen to stay and train in Windsor for the summer because I am able to optimize the state of the art facilities the University of Windsor has to offer. I will also be training with other national team athletes, which creates one of the best training environments in Canada. I am also receiving world class coaching: Brett Lumley (National Team Coach), Dave Steen (Olympic Medalist) and Jamie Adjetey-Nelson (Commonwealth Games Medalist)
