Less than two weeks ago, Devyss (Dowding) Heckman was found in her home by her family after suffering a sudden and massive stroke. Devyss is a very active, healthy 31-year old woman, and the cause of this sudden stroke remains a mystery. She was recently transferred from Fort Wayne to Battle Creek, where she continues to fight to recover both mentally and physically. Right now she cannot speak or eat, and is mostly paralyzed on her right side. Her husband has been by her side ever since this happened, and the boys are staying with family. Devyss is a strong, beautiful, vibrant, loving wife and mother to her two young sons, and a thoughtful and caring friend to many. The family has been blindsided not only by emotional trauma from this life-changing tragedy, but also by sky-high medical bills that continue to rise each day. The last thing this sweet family needs to worry about right now is money, so we’ve put together this Fundrazr to ask for help for the Heckman family, for everything from medical bills to travel expenses to food and lodging while they’re fighting this battle. Any amount will really help relieve some of the stress and pressure from this heartbreaking situation. Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated as well. Devyss would do anything to help her family and friends – let’s show her our love and support, during a time with this family needs it more than ever!
