On September 2, Nick Speetzen was hospitalized for what we thought was menengitis. Many days later it was determined that he had sepsis (bacteria in his blood) and endocarditis (an infection in his heart). After being transferred to Loyola Medical center in Chicago, Nick initially avoided open heart surgery but had to receive iv antibiotics for several weeks. On October 27th drs discovered that Nick's mitral valve was not working properly & he had an abscess. Nick requires open heart surgery. He has missed weeks of work, has no insurance, and has a baby on the way. Any donation is appreciated and will help with living expenses and medical bills. Thank you & God Bless!
