Hey everyone! I have an exciting opportunity I wanted to share with my community. I was awarded a $1,500 scholarship toward a three-month aerial certification program, but I need to raise the remaining $3,000 in tuition to participate. I’m putting together a sponsorship campaign and wanted to reach out to the people who have been part of my journey over the years. Goal: $3,000

I’ve been given an incredible opportunity: a $1,500 scholarship toward a three-month professional aerial certification program.

Now I’m raising the remaining $3,000 in tuition so I can complete the program, develop my professional aerial skills, and participate in Rodeo Atitlán.

This is more than simply taking a course. It’s an opportunity to bring together several parts of my life that I’ve been building for years—movement, yoga, aerial arts, fitness, performance, climbing, and teaching.

Why aerial?

Movement has always been a major part of my life. My background in martial arts, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, yoga, fitness, and performing arts has led to aerial training feeling like a natural next step: combining strength, mobility, creativity, discipline, and performance.

Completing this certification would give me another professional opportunity to teach classes in the East Downtown Houston area.

It also opens the door to opportunities that I wouldn't otherwise have—including the chance to participate with my school when they perform in Rodeo Atitlán.

The scholarship:

I’m incredibly grateful to have already received $1,500 in scholarship support toward the program, by the academy, Urban Circus International.

That means the opportunity is already partially funded. I'm now asking my community to help me raise the remaining $3,000.

What I'm hoping to build:

My goal isn't for this certification to be the end of the journey.

I want to use the training as another building block toward teaching and creating opportunities in aerial arts, yoga, movement, fitness, climbing, and performing arts.

I hope to eventually bring specialty classes and workshops to different communities and continue combining movement with creativity, adventure, and wellness.

When I return to Houston, Texas after the three month aerial program located in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, I look forward to returning to East Downtown Houston and working with Renzo Gracie BJJ in a work-study exchange program teaching kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!
