April 21st changed everything.
Our family’s world was turned upside down when my grandfather, Neil Fulwiler, and my grandmother, Ruth, were involved in a devastating car accident. While both were impacted, my grandfather suffered the most severe injuries and has been fighting for his life every single day since.
He has endured multiple traumatic injuries and numerous broken bones—injuries that would challenge anyone, let alone a man who is 95 years old.
And yet… he refuses to give up.
From the very beginning, we have witnessed incredible kindness—from the people who stopped to help at the scene, to the emergency responders, to the dedicated medical team at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. Their care has carried us through some of the darkest moments.
My mother has not left his side. At the same time, his two sons are doing everything they can to keep the farm running and support in any way possible—balancing the demands of daily life with the weight of uncertainty our family is facing.
And my grandfather? He continues to fight.
Neil is a man shaped by a lifetime of hard work on the farm. Strength, resilience, and determination are simply who he is. He has said his goal is to live to be 100—and even now, after everything his body has endured, he is still holding onto that goal.
Because to him, even when half your body feels broken… it doesn’t mean it’s time to stop fighting.
But this road ahead is long.
He has faced multiple surgeries, ongoing medical care, and eventually extensive physical therapy. The financial burden is significant, and our family is doing everything we can—but we can’t do it alone.
We are asking for your help.
