On January 27th this year, Delmin Molina Vasquez, an immigrant mother originally from Honduras, was abducted in downtown Ypsilanti, MI, on her way to work. Delmi has spent the last four months painfully separated from her family including her husband and three children, a 10-year--old son, 6-year-old daughter and her now 10-month-old infant daughter, while being detained in abhorrent conditions at the North Lake Detention Center in Baldwin, MI. During that time she has been forced to miss so much of her children's lives, especially the early months of her youngest daughter's life.
A deportation date has finally been set for Delmin for May. Her husband and children will be reuniting with her in Honduras, where their future remains uncertain. The family will be starting from scratch in Honduras. We are working to raise funds for the family to assist with easing this transition and to secure housing while they look for work in Honduras and try to rebuild their lives together. Funds will be transferred to the family upon their arrival in Honduras.
El 27 de enero de este año, Delmin Molina Vásquez, una madre inmigrante originaria de Honduras, fue detenida en el centro de Ypsilanti, Michigan, mientras se dirigía a su trabajo. Delmin ha pasado los últimos cuatro meses dolorosamente separada de su familia —incluyendo a su esposo y a sus tres hijos: un varón de 10 años, una niña de 6 años y su hija menor, ahora de 10 meses— mientras permanecía detenida en condiciones deplorables en el Centro de Detención North Lake, en Baldwin, Michigan. Durante este tiempo, se ha visto obligada a perderse gran parte de la vida de sus hijos, especialmente los primeros meses de vida de su hija menor.
Finalmente, se ha fijado la fecha de deportación de Delmin para el mes de mayo. Su esposo y sus hijos se reunirán con ella en Honduras, donde su futuro sigue siendo incierto. La familia tendrá que empezar desde cero en Honduras. Estamos trabajando para recaudar fondos destinados a la familia, con el fin de ayudar a aliviar esta transición y asegurarles una vivienda mientras buscan empleo en Honduras e intentan reconstruir sus vidas juntos. Los fondos serán transferidos a la familia una vez que lleguen a Honduras.
