Hello my name is Kurara Sato. I'm living with my mom Keiko in Japan. 

Here is why I want to raise money for her.

 Last November, in the middle of global pandemic, she was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer stage 4. Which has only a 3 % survival rate. ( https://www.healthline.com/health/pancreatic-cancer )

Her doctor told us that the rest of her life is less than a year. I couldn't believe it first but soon she stared chemotherapy and lost her hair, that forced me to face up the reality. I've been trying to be supportive for her as much as I can. I just hope she lives longer. She is still 58. It's too early to end her life.

 But her hope is different from mine. 

She doesn't want to keep doing the chemotherapy for the rest of her life. The fact she has no choice to stop it if she wants to keep alive.  But side effects are not easy to live with. One day she told  me she wanted to stop the treatment and live a normal life without the side effects. So that means we let the cancer to kill her. But it's her life. All I can do is respect her decision and be there for her. I wish I could show her her grand child. Because that is one of her dreams. But sadly I'm single and not planning to be pregnant. I can't make it for her. Another her dream is watching her favorite soccer team Real Madrid's match in Europe. She loves traveling, eating and soccer so I think if that happens, it would definitely the best moment of her life. 

 So I'm not here to raise money for the anti-cancer treatment. I am asking you to help her last moment bright. I know it's been very difficult situation for everyone because of the corona virus. It just stared getting better. Of course everyone wants to spend money for themselves. Everyone wants to go traveling not only her. I understand that. So just sharing this with your friends will be absolutely appreciated. If you have extra money, please donate to help me out.

日本で母と二人暮らしをしています。

私が寄付を募っている理由は、去年の11月に、母がステージ４のすい臓ガンと診断されたからです。すい臓ガンの生存率はわずか３％で、母の余命は１年以下です。診断されたときは、全く信じられませんでしたが、抗がん剤治療を始め、髪の毛がごっそり抜けたときには、現実を受け入れるしかありませんでした。まだ母は58歳です。死ぬには早すぎます。私は、できるだけ長く母に生きて欲しいと望んでいました。

しかし、母の望みは私の願うものとは違いました。

母は、抗がん剤治療をしたまま、残りの人生を過ごしたくないと言います。ただ、治療をやめてしまうと、生きる望みはほとんどありません。ただ、抗がん剤治療の副作用の辛さは、経験した人にしかわかりません。

ある日、母は私に、治療をやめて、副作用のない普通の生活に戻りたいと言いました。それは、ガンの進行を放置し、最期を待つということになります。ただ、これは母の人生なので、私は母の選択を尊重し、支えることしかできません。

母に、いつか孫の顔を見せてあげたかったとは思いますが、私には相手もいなく、すぐに子供が生まれるわけではないので、それは叶いません。

次に思いついたことは、母がずっと行きたがっていた、母の大好きなサッカーチーム、レアルマドリードの試合をヨーロッパに見に行くことです。母は、旅行も食べることもサッカーも好きなので、きっと最高の思い出になるはずです。

なので、ここで寄付を募っているのは、治療費の為ではありません。母の残された時間を少しでも明るいものにしたいからです。

コロナウイルスの蔓延により、世界中の人々が困難な状況に追い込まれ、やっとワクチン接種により状況が変わってきています。旅行に行きたいのは、母だけではなく、もちろん多くの人が同じ気持ちだと思います。お金に余裕があれば、少しでも寄付して頂けると嬉しいのですが、このページをシェアして頂けるだけでも、大きな助けになります。
