Despite having to take his own dog Majkica all the way to Zagreb for specialist treatment, Caki has still been busy with a modest number of newcomers, some very sick dogs, and - amazingly - a whole litter of new puppies born to Valerie!  Valerie approached Caki early on New Year's Eve, outside a butcher's shop: she was incredibly friendly, and seemed to be pleading with Caki to help her.  It was only later that we discovered she was about to give birth to a litter of pups, now named Birdy, Jeannie, Georgie, Penita, Rudi, and Ebony.

Angel was suffering in Praca with an untreated tumour, until Caki took her out: she has now had surgery and is in foster care.  Other new arrivals include a big collie named Sebastian, also from Praca, and two young dogs Star and Darcie found scavenging in the snow.

A group of rabbits that Caki had somehow acquired (to save them from the cooking pot!) also travelled to new homes in Austria.

Among the lucky leavers, two of the "bus stop pups" Elvis and Lisa came to the UK, along with Max, Maya, Rubina and Zeus, while Blaze went to Belgium for a new life.  April went to the UK in late December.

Sadly both George and one of the "bus stop pups" Chris succumbed to ill health.  There have also been very substantial veterinary costs associated with Diamond and Angel, and also routine neutering (the Dogs Trust free neutering campaign has ended, and isn't set to resume for a few months), vaccinations and testing... and of course Valerie's pups!

This all takes hard work, dedication ... and a great deal of money!  Without the generosity of you, Caki’s worldwide family of wonderful supporters, these dogs would not stand a chance.  Please remember Caki’s Furry Family this winter. Thank you!
