My Father, My Mother, My brother and his wife’s life is in danger

SUMMARY:
“This is about our tragic story in this moment and I am so worry about my poor family! They are under a big debt and threaten by sharks in Iran! My Father, My Mother and My brother and his wife are in real danger! And several times got warning to death and can’t do anything! They cannot go to police and justice department because the court asks them official documents that in fact are not officially existing as these kinds of deals are only made through verbal agreements and are guaranteed by personal checks which is not valid for court and government officials. We sold out what ever we had and barrow money from every one we knew but it barely covered 60% of their debt and still m y parents have to to return back 100000 (one hundred thousand USA dollars ) as soon as possible and by this campaign we would like to achieve to this amount other wise their life is in Danger in Iran.
Introduction of myself and my family members:
My name is Babak Behnam. 46, Male, PhD holder in plant molecular biology from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. I am an Iranian-Japanese immigrant, originally Kurdish from north-western region of Iran. I am the eldest son of my family and as a Kurd, I am traditionally responsible for my family issues. Based on our tradition in Kurdistan, once the oldest son starts to earn money, he is responsible for supporting his parent and the younger siblings.
In 2002, I got a MONBUKAGAKUSHO Scholarship from Japanese government and began my PhD study in Japan. Although the scholarship was barely enough to cover my own expenses, I started supporting my family, and I have never stopped it since then (for almost 16 years)!
It is being almost 2 decades that I have been out of Iran and only got a chance to spend a short time there due to my high demanding job as a research scholar. After PhD graduation, I got a postdoc fellowship from JSPS (http://www.jsps.go.jp/english/) as a researcher at RIKEN Institute (2008-2015) and since 2015, I have been a project assistant professor at Yokohama City University (YCU). Currently, I am in a sabbatical mission and working on Genome Editing for Cassava Flowering Related Gene at International Center for Agricultural Research for Tropical Plants (CIAT) in Cali, Colombia (http://ciat.cgiar.org/). My parents still live in my hometown, Mahabad, which is a small town in the same region of Iran within the Western Azerbaijan province. I have a sister and a younger brother and both of them are married.
My father, Ali Behnam, 75 years old, a retired high school teacher and principal with an outstanding working background. After 30 years of hard work and fulfilling his all official duties for school development in rural area in western part of Iran and teaching biology and life lessons to more than thousands of students, his pension barely reach $350 per month which usually government pay it by delay (sometimes 2 months delay) and hardly cover their expenses. Unfortunately has a collection of diseases: Heart disease (Problem with narrowness of mitral atrium), prostate and arthritis in both knees high cholesterol and lung malfunction (All medical history and documents are available)..
My mother, Esmat Khorrami, 65 years old, housewife and without any social or national beneficiary. She also has a lot of health problem like back, and neck herniation and she went through surgeries. She has metal (platinum) in her neck and has knee arthritis. Her eye sight is getting weaker (+4) and her ears sensibility is deteriorating little by little (All medical history and documents are available).
My sister, Parisa Behnam, 42 years old, High school degree and working as a social nurse worker in Sweden. After her second marriage in 2008 with a Swedish-Kurdish guy, she had to migrate to Sweden. Unfortunately, she is also struggling with her own problems as her husband got MS (multiple sclerosis) disease since 2009 and he cannot move anymore and therefore suffering a lot (all medical history and documents are available). Beside her husband, my sister has to take care of her three kids by herself.
My brother, Loghman Behnam, 34 years old, got his BSc degree in construction engineering from Azad university in Mahabad-Iran but despite all his hard work, his life got very complicate with terrible financial and mental crisis. He is the main subject and cause to make this campaign, as the life of my entire family has been negatively affected and eventually became a tragic and severe case because of his financial crisis since 2010: He is married for almost 5 years and still no kids because of many financial problems.
Case introduction:
My brother married in 2010 and soon after, beside his study and for being able to pay partial life and study costs, he started his own small business for home decoration and interior design. However, his trust and honesty have been misused by some coworkers and people around him and he ended up bankrupt. Without telling anybody, including his own family, he started to get hard loan money from local sharks. Such hard money lenders have their own methods and use dirty tricks to offering money to those people like my brother who has severe financial problems. After being trapped, the victims soon would realize that they cannot repay such loans with crazy high interest rate (35-40% interest). They have been forced to sign many documents and give many checks to secure their loans. When the victims fail to repay their debt, the sharks will exponentially increase the interest rate and gradually poses every penny of their victims. This scenario happened to my brother and due to multiple interest rate, the payoff demand now became more than 5 times over his original loan amount as he only could pay back the loan interest since 2010 and as I mentioned he didn’t inform anybody due to frustration and all threats from the sharks.
In the other hand and meanwhile that no body of my family didn`t know anything about this disaster of my brother, in 2014, my parent decided to renovate our old house in Mahabad as it was made during Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) with minimum safety standards and low-quality materials without almost any standard building guideline. Obviously, they didn’t have enough money for renovation and had to finance the project it by subdividing the lot and sharing the property right with other people. Unfortunately, in Iran, the process of getting low interest loan from governmental banks is very complicated for ordinary people without connection and after one year of continuous failing to obtain any loan, my parents had to come to me in order to cover the renovation costs. I gave them my entire saving and even had to borrow about $20,000 from my Japanese credit card company and sent to them but it was not enough!
While we were dealing with such a big challenge to find a way for covering the construction costs and payments, we faced A big shock by finding out about my brother's financial crisis and the hard money loans. However, it was too late and as the amount of the loan was reached to a horrible range of $300,000 US Dollars (three hundred thousand American dollars)!
My dad health and mental condition became so bad after finding out about this debt and my mother health has been severely affected since then.
In 2016 my brother started a new job for the Gas company in west of Iran around a city named Kermanshah. However his employer could not pay him and all his colleagues their salaries due to the bad economy and complications between the Iranian government and its private contractors in oil and gas development industries. And now after this big earth quake in Kermanshah which is happened last moth (Dec. 2017), now his employment situation even worse than before.
Due to unsuccessful business, continues failures, huge debt, feeling overwhelmed by his responsibilities to his own family (wife) and hiding his problems for several years, my brother is now suffering from severe depression and mental problem!
During all of these issues, I was out of Iran and could not help my brother, so my father again took all the responsibilities to help my brother.
Beside all his health issues and financial problems, my dad is still pushing himself like a young and supportive head of our family to help my brother. But his sickness (as mentioned in detail above), he is getting weaker and almost reached to his final limits.
For solving this disaster in first step all the family tried to do our best by selling all our properties and using our saving money. I had three shops and as for family we had three properties and we sold out ( the documents are available) and was able to cover about 200000 (two hundred thousand USA dollars) from $300000. Now all our purpose and goal is to be able to pay back the rest $100000 (one hundred thousand USA dollars)as soon as possible and by this campaign we would like to achieve to this goal.
What is This Donation For?
This donation is for the save the life of my family to release them from sharks. It can not only allow them to be survived but also able them to spend their time and life for more productive activities. Furthermore as for me I can continue my professional career with more creative mind and allow me to follow my dream projects conducting in international plant breeding projects on crop plants in different aspects and participate more effective in food security global challenges.

As for this $ 100,000remaining loan, it is in the forms of several checks in the hands of very rude, dangerous and uneducated mafia type sharks and every day they threaten my father and my brother by calling, sending very rude warning letters knocking their house door in the night and threatening them. Because of these debts, my family are terrorized now and They DO NOT FEEL SAFE ANY MORE!
They have severe health issues and something bad might happen to them any moment. Therefore, I am announcing here that their life is in danger and I am extremely worry and unfortunately cannot do anything!
Nowadays, the economy is really bad in Iran, and because of big limitation to get loan from the national or semi-private banks, many families have to take private loan from sharks and if they couldn’t payback on time, they will lose their properties or have to deal with dangerous threats, warning and many problems as the sharks push their clients to pay the high interest rate and while the original loan still remain unpaid in many cases, the borrowers go deeper and deeper into debt as the interest rate goes up exponentially. The sharks have a network of Mafia and gangs for threatening the clients who cannot pay on time and unfortunately my family are now suffering from such threats almost every day. They do not hesitate to beat the victims in public and disrespect them and their family members in brutal ways.
I am getting crazy as I am far from them at this moment ( in Latin America - Colombia with a job with heavy responsibilities) and cannot be with my family. I don’t have 4000 USD at this moment to pay for the air ticket to visit my family. Even if I go there, I cannot do anything! And it is KILLING ME!
