In Janary of this year, my father had a heart attack and underwent a triple bypass surgery. He did well. Noteably, he survived the "widowmaker' type of coronary block that has a greater than 95% kill rate. We are blessed that he made it through this. 

The months preceding my dad's heart event, I was toying with an ideal about creating a type of security fund for the Walters family. I put it off until I finish business schoool. Then my father's condition changed my mind. Recently he visited my home and we were discussing life insurance, as families do. He then told us that he is 'un-insurable'. That was a shock! Now is the time to start this fund! 

Ideally, this fund works in this way: 

• Walters family members donate into the fund $20 minimum every 3 months. If we can get 50 family members (a very small portion of the family) to pay in the first 3 months, we can raise $1,000.00. 
• If we can continue to get 50 family member to do this for a year, we can raise $4,000.00
• The money collected will be used for family funeral expenses, such as travel expenses, motel bills, food, etc. 
• There is no priority of who gets the money, because it is a family fund; It is for the entire family. 
• You can donate any amount to the fund at any time to increase the fund. I chose $20 becuase it is affordable. 
• At no time will the entire fund be used, we must continue to donate and keep the fund active for all of our family. 
• As we build a surplus of money, we can use it for other family functions, such as reunions, ceremonies, etc. 
• I will post financial reports as we go.
