I write to express my interest in getting support to compete in the world IFAA Archery Titles in August this year at Yankton USA, I have been offered a position on the Australian Team due to my recent achievements at the Australian National Archery titles where I had a clean sweep winning a gold medal in all divisions of field archery being named the Australian National Junior girl Champion and breaking two Australian records in the process.

I would be honoured to represent Australia as an up and coming junior archer my enthusiasm for this sport is at an all-time high, I not only become the National Junior Champion but have been recognised as the top junior girl archer in all three field archery divisions in Australia. I shoot at all the branch shoots all over NSW an the ACT and have any National IFAA, ABA & 3D events that are held, my success last month at the nationals was held in Wide Bay Queensland.

My School “St Columba’s Catholic College” in Winmalee have also recognised my talent and commitment to Archery and have added me to their elite athletes program of four students for high achievements in their chosen sports, the Blue Mountains Gazette published an article on us on the 12th of March 2014.

After becoming Australian Champion both the Lithgow Mercury and Blue Mountains Gazette newspapers have run an article on my success this week, this not only promotes my archery career but helps to promote both juniors in general, but especially junior girls to become a part of this exciting sport.

My training program includes, shooting at least 50 arrows a day, blank bale shooting, release control and bow-strength being my main focus, and as equally important a healthy low fat diet that includes mostly vegetables, fruit and protein along with daily exercise, working on general fitness and upper body strength, I also work on my form with my coach on a weekly basis.

My keenness for the sport of Archery does not stop at the want to be the best female archer in Australia, one of my major focus’s within this sport is to be an ambassador and to promote archery in 2014 and the future the same way a running athlete would treat training for the Olympic games and push the need for fitness and a healthy lifestyle be an integral part of archery training.

I see a real opening to encourage cubs, juniors and especially the ever lacking female archers to not only take up the sport, but see it as a real option as a sporting activity just like tennis or golf, I enjoy working with cubs and would love to use what I have learnt to help inspire and hopefully one day coach the young archers of Australia.

Any donations to assist me to get to the IFAA World Championships would be very much apreciated and I thank you for your support.
